The university of Calgary is one of the top-ranked psychology departments in the country (see Carleton, Peluso, & Asmundson, 2010) and the Intergroup Relations Lab is looking to expand. We are seeking individuals at various educational stages to join the lab. There are several ways to get involved:

Volunteer Research Assistants

Research assistants (RAs) will contribute to various lab projects. Duties may include materials preparation, data collection, data organization and management, and/or data analyses. RA experience is useful for gaining volunteer experience, research experience (e.g., for graduate school applications), and for reference letters.

Honours thesis students will work on a specific research project in the lab, receiving hands-on training in research design, data collection, data analyses, and scientific communication. Potential honours thesis students should consult the Department of Psychology criteria.

PSYC 504

PSYC 504 students will work on a specific research project in the lab, receiving hands-on training in research design, data collection, data analyses, and scientific communication. See course calendar description.

PSYC 499

PSYC 499 students will work on a research project or projects in the lab. Duties may include literature search, materials preparation, data collection, data organization and management, and/or data analyses. See course calendar description.

Graduate Students

Dr. MacInnis will be accepting applications for graduate students (MA and/or PhD) for Fall 2017. Graduate students in the lab will be provided with office space and full access to lab research facilities. Graduate students will receive training in social psychology (both theoretical and practical research training), statistics, and professional development. Potential graduate students should consult the application guidelines set out by the Department of Psychology.
